Dark Mode
The web, iOS, and Android architects and I proactively created the much-requested dark mode for the Blick news platform. Collaboratively closing this design depth, which caused significant user frustration.

Proactively pushing the most user requested feature live.
Challenge
Multi-theming ability for dark mode was postponed from the 2024 redesign due to cost and time constraints. The missing dark mode on launch frustrated users because it had been one of the most anticipated features.
Solution
We overhauled the design system with primitive and semantic color variable layers during a vacuum created by a management change. All 600+ components were updated accordingly, and we achieved over 85% WCAG AA contrast compliance, closing a significant design depth.
Impacts
85% WCAG AA compliance achieved
All quantitative metrics have been anonymized or modified to protect sensitive business information.
